Funded Childcare Information
At St Bernards Day Nursery, we aim to make information about funded childcare clear, accessible and straightforward for all our families.
Funded Childcare Entitlements
We offer government-funded childcare for eligible children, including:
- Funded childcare for eligible working families from 9 months old
- Funded early education for eligible 2-year-olds
- Universal funded childcare for all 3 and 4-year-olds
- Extended funded childcare for eligible working families
Funded places are subject to availability and our nursery admissions and funding arrangements.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for funded childcare depends on your child's age and, for some entitlements, your family's individual circumstances.
Parents are responsible for checking their eligibility and obtaining a valid eligibility code where required.
You can check which funded childcare you may be entitled to through the government's Childcare Choices service.
Applying & Reconfirming Your Eligibility
Where an eligibility code is required, parents are responsible for applying for their code and providing it to St Bernards Day Nursery within the required timescales.
Parents accessing funded childcare through the working parent entitlement must reconfirm their eligibility with HMRC when requested, usually every three months.
It is important that eligibility is reconfirmed on time to ensure that your child's funded entitlement can continue.
Funding cannot be backdated where the relevant eligibility requirements or deadlines have not been met.
.
Early Years National Funding
The Government’s Early Years National Funding does not cover the cost of meals, snacks, consumables or any additional hours attended outside of a child’s funded entitlement.
Therefore, the below following charges apply at St Bernards Day Nursery.

|---|---|---|
| Full Day | £12.50 | |
| Morning Session | £7.75 | (Breakfast, morning snack and lunch) |

Any hours attended outside of your child’s funded entitlement are charged at our current additional hourly rate of £5.50 per hour.
Childcare Options
We offer a variety of childcare sessions and attendance patterns to support the needs of our families.
The availability and use of funded childcare will depend on your child's entitlement, the sessions available and our funding arrangements.
