A Caring Start

Thoughtfully designed care and early education for children aged 0 to 5

St Bernards Day Nursery is based in a large modified detached property close to Hinckley town centre, making it convenient for local families while still feeling safe, settled, and welcoming. Our setting supports children from birth to pre-school, with dedicated spaces for babies, toddlers, and older children as they grow through each stage of nursery life.

We believe the best early years environments feel both nurturing and purposeful. That is why our nursery combines secure surroundings, caring relationships, and engaging everyday experiences that help children feel valued, confident, and ready to explore.

Connecting with Families

Partnership with Parents

We believe that building strong partnerships with parents is essential to providing the very best care and education for every child.

We are committed to keeping families informed by sharing the latest childcare legislation, current guidance, expert advice, and relevant news from both our local community and the wider early years sector.

Throughout the year, we provide regular publications and updates that include:

  • Information on our nursery policies and procedures.
  • Practical advice and helpful parenting tips.
  • Updates on changes within the childcare sector.
  • News, events, and important information about life at our nursery.

By maintaining open, honest, and regular communication, we aim to ensure that parents feel informed, supported, and actively involved in their child’s early learning journey.

Our Approach

Building confidence, curiosity, and independence every day

At St Bernards, children are supported through caring routines, strong key person relationships, and play-based experiences that encourage them to communicate, discover, and develop at their own pace. Every part of the day is planned to feel calm, meaningful, and supportive.

Warm, secure relationships

Children thrive when they feel safe. Our team creates a reassuring environment where strong attachments, gentle guidance, and consistent routines help little ones settle happily.

Learning through play

We support development through rich, age-appropriate experiences that encourage creativity, movement, communication, early problem solving, and exploration.

Support for every stage

From babies to pre-school children, each room is designed to meet children where they are and help them build the confidence and skills they need for the next step.

Why Families Feel Reassured

A trusted local nursery with a strong focus on safety, care, and well-being

Families want to feel confident that their child will be cared for in a secure, supportive setting. At St Bernards, our nursery environment has been created to feel both welcoming and dependable, with secure access, a carefully organised layout, and dedicated spaces that support children’s care, learning, and rest throughout the day.

We also know that communication and trust matter just as much as the environment itself. That is why we work closely with parents to create a nursery experience that feels open, reassuring, and genuinely supportive for the whole family.

What Makes Us Special

A nursery website should show the people, spaces, and care behind the setting

This page has been shaped to feel more modern, more welcoming, and more parent-focused, while still reflecting the real strengths of St Bernards as a local childcare setting.

Trusted nursery environment

A welcoming first impression

Softer colours, stronger imagery, and clearer messaging help the page feel calmer, warmer, and more in line with the kind of environment families want for their child.

Outdoor learning and play

Better parent reassurance

Clear trust points, opening hours, testimonials, and visit calls-to-action make the page feel more useful and more persuasive for families making a childcare decision.

Supportive nursery care

A stronger full-site design system

The styling here is built to match the refreshed homepage and carry across the rest of the redesign, so the whole website feels consistent and professionally rebuilt.

Parent Feedback

Families describe St Bernards as a true home from home

Strong parent feedback is one of the most effective ways to build trust with prospective families, so the redesigned About page gives it more presence and better presentation.

Parent Feedback

"We can not recommend St Bernards Day Nursery highly enough. Our daughter started here when she was 12 months old, and as she now prepares to leave to start school, we have been reflecting on what an incredibly positive and nurturing experience it has been.

Over the years, we have watched our daughter absolutely flourish under their care. The transformation from starting at one-year-old becoming a confident, capable, and school-ready child is a direct testament to the dedication of the team here.

The staff at St Bernards are simply excellent. They are genuinely caring, patient, and deeply invested in the well-being of the children. They have provided a warm, home-from-home environment where our daughter has always felt safe, loved, and encouraged.

As working parents, another standout feature for us has been the nursery's exceptional communication. The daily reporting and regular updates kept us completely connected to her milestones and daily activities. It provided such peace of mind to know exactly what she was learning, eating, and enjoying each day.

We also place a huge value on their frequent use of the outdoor space. The nursery actively ensures the children get plenty of fresh air and engaging outdoor play, which has been fantastic for her physical development, curiosity, and overall happiness.

If you are looking for a nursery that goes above and beyond to nurture and educate, St Bernards is the perfect choice. We are sad that her time here is coming to an end, but we are incredibly grateful to the amazing staff for giving our daughter the best possible start in life and have already requested a place for our second child."

Parent Feedback

"Our 3 year old son currently attends St Bernards, and our daughter began here when Covid hit in 2020, after her previous nursery was forced to close. This was the best decision we could have made for her, and she thrived from day one.

The team were so supportive of her additional needs and helped us with the relevant referrals and advice around SEN. It was an easy decision to have our son follow in her footsteps and he has loved every session! His vocabulary has developed tremendously well since joining, and the team have helped us massively since we shared our concerns about his potty training, and he has now smashed it! The support and communication is top tier, and we will be sad to leave when he starts school this September, but I will continue to recommend this nursery to anyone who wants the best for their children."

Parent Feedback

"St Bernard’s has been a true home from home for Arthur. The staff are attentive, nurturing and treat every child with genuine care, respect and dignity. Arthur has thrived socially, personally and academically during his time there, and we have seen such growth in his confidence and independence.

During a particularly difficult time for our family when our younger son was in the hospital, the Aunties supported us with such kindness and understanding. They went above and beyond to care for us as a family - something we will always be grateful for. Their reassurance and flexibility meant so much to us.

The communication is excellent, the food is wonderful (Arthur eats everything!), and the nursery provides so many thoughtful events and experiences, from stay-and-play sessions to exciting trips out.

We feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the St Bernard’s community and would wholeheartedly recommend it to other families."

Parent Feedback

"My son has been attending St Bernard’s since he was 11 months old, four days a week. From the very first visit when he was just six weeks old, I knew St Bernard’s was the place for him.

The staff are incredible….attentive, caring, and full of love. They look after my son with genuine warmth, and it really shows in everything they do. Since starting nursery, he has made amazing progress. The team provides endless creative activities and imaginative play, which he absolutely thrives on.

My son genuinely loves going to St Bernard’s, and that speaks volumes. He adores the Aunties, and it truly feels like one big, supportive family. I cannot thank the staff enough for their dedication and hard work; they all shine bright and go above and beyond every day.

St Bernard’s is an amazing nursery, and I honestly couldn’t think of anywhere better for my son to be."
